Ryan Gracie was a 2nd degree black belt under Carlos Gracie Jr. and one of the most naturally gifted fighters of the Gracie family. Son of Robson Gracie and brother of Renzo and Ralph, Ryan trained alongside his siblings in the early days of Gracie Barra. His black belt BJJ was elite and he competed in MMA with a 12-4 professional record, running a successful academy in Sao Paulo. Known for his fierce and combustive personality, Ryans life ended tragically on December 29, 2007, at 33 years old after a medical emergency while in police custody. He is remembered as a fierce fighter whose full potential was never fully realized.
