Overview
Vinícius Ferreira Gazola, universally known as “Trator” (Tractor), is an elite modern Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Fábio Gurgel and Michael Langhi. Representing the powerhouse Alliance Academy, Ferreira is regarded as one of the most physically imposing and technically sound heavyweights of his generation. He has captured major world titles both with and without the traditional kimono, establishing himself as a top-tier threat on the professional sub-only circuit.
The Tractor’s Origin
Vinícius Ferreira was born in 1997 in Brazil. At 12 years old, struggling significantly with his weight and overall health, he decided to join a boxing gym to lower his body mass. After four years of heavy striking, he was still fighting off excess weight. At age 13, he decided to give Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a try.
The sport instantly became an obsession; he famously began competing every single weekend, entering both his weight class and the open class divisions across various regional circuits. When he eventually moved to São Paulo to join the Alliance head academy, his relentless, forward-driving pressure passing prompted a teammate to declare that he rolled like a “Tractor.” The nickname stuck permanently.
Elite Black Belt Run
Ferreira progressed rapidly through the colored ranks under the Alliance banner, spending considerable time sharpening his skills with Marcelo Garcia’s powerhouse squad in New York City. He was awarded his black belt by Fábio Gurgel and Michael Langhi in 2018.
In his very first year at black belt, “Trator” shocked the community by immediately rattling off major wins over established elite champions like Kaynan Duarte, Patrick Gaudio, and Mahamed Aly. He solidified his elite status on the global No-Gi scene by capturing an ADCC South American Trials Championship, taking his heavy top game to the highest echelons of professional submission grappling.
